Hire MEAN Stack Developers
The MEAN stack puts one language at every layer: MongoDB stores documents, Express and Node.js serve them, Angular displays them. It suits internal systems with many screens and roles, such as portals, back-office tools and booking systems, where the structure Angular imposes keeps a large front end orderly.
A good part of the MEAN work we see is older: applications started on AngularJS, with callback-style Node code and schemas that grew without a plan. Our developers join your repository, report to you, and improve such systems while they stay in use. We employ them and provide cover.

What MEAN stack developers are asked to do
Six areas, from database to browser. A full-stack developer often moves between them within a single ticket.
Retiring AngularJS
Replacing a 1.x front end with current Angular while the Express API stays in place. Routes move over in groups, and the API gains versioning so old and new screens can run together.
Schema and index design
Deciding what to embed and what to reference, adding compound indexes that match the real queries, and using Mongoose schemas or JSON Schema validation so that documents keep a known shape.
Role-based portals
Applications where staff, managers and customers see different menus and data. Permissions are enforced in Express middleware and again in the query. Route guards in Angular serve the interface only.
Modernising the Node layer
Moving off unsupported Node.js releases, replacing nested callbacks with async functions, upgrading Express, and adding central error handling so one rejected promise cannot take the process down.
Shared contracts
Request and response types defined once in TypeScript and imported by both the Angular app and the API, often in an Nx workspace, so a changed field fails the build on both sides.
Reports and exports
Aggregation pipelines for totals and breakdowns, run against a secondary node or on a schedule, with CSV and PDF exports generated in a background job and not inside the web request.
The four letters and what goes with them
MongoDB, Express, Angular and Node.js are the base. In practice a project also needs the following.
- Database
- MongoDBMongoDB AtlasMongooseRedis
- Server
- Node.jsExpressNestJSPassportSocket.IO
- Client
- AngularTypeScriptRxJSNgRxAngular MaterialPrimeNG
- Testing

Seniority on a MEAN project
Full-stack means a person can be wrong in four places. The higher levels are those who know which of the four a problem belongs to.
Junior
Adds a field through every layer: schema, endpoint, service, form. Writes simple queries and components by following neighbouring code. Needs review, particularly on anything touching permissions.
Choose when: a lead reviews merges and the patterns are already established.
Mid-level
Builds features across the stack with tests at the API and component level. Designs a collection and its indexes for a new module. Reads an explain plan and acts on it.
Choose when: you have a working application and a queue of modules to add.
Senior
Owns architecture and operations: data model, authentication, deployment, upgrade path for Angular and Node.js. Takes on an inherited system and produces a written account of its risks.
Choose when: the system is old or critical, or you have no technical lead.
Beginning a MEAN stack engagement
Set out the system
What the application does, the Angular and Node.js versions, where MongoDB is hosted, and the first thing you want done. Repository access helps.
A developer is put forward
You are sent the profile of one engineer and talk with them yourself. If you are not satisfied, we nominate a different one.
A first ticket
Choose something that crosses the stack in a small way, like a new field or a report. It shows how they handle each layer.
Normal running
Your board, your branching rules. We add a weekly summary of delivered and blocked work, and invoice monthly.
MEAN stack developer rates
Our rates are published. Pick the role and move the sliders for an indicative budget.

|---|---|---|
| Frontend / WordPress | AED 110 | AED 17,600 |
| Backend / API | AED 118 | AED 18,880 |
| Full-stack | AED 129 | AED 20,640 |
| Mobile (React Native / Flutter) | AED 129 | AED 20,640 |
| DevOps / Cloud | AED 147 | AED 23,520 |
| AI / Automation engineer | AED 165 | AED 26,400 |
| QA / Test engineer | AED 92 | AED 14,720 |

*160 hrs/month full-time. Rates are indicative for planning, in UAE dirhams (converted from our US-dollar rates at the fixed peg of 3.6725), before VAT where applicable, and depend on seniority, contract length and timezone overlap. Longer engagements and multi-role teams are discounted — ask.
Does a MEAN developer from us make sense?
We are a good choice when
- Your business runs on a MEAN application and it needs continuous development.
- You are still on AngularJS or an old Node.js release and want a planned way off.
- You prefer one developer who can follow a problem from the form to the database.
- You are a software company needing full-stack capacity for a client system.
Look elsewhere when
- Your data is strongly relational, with many joins and transactions. A SQL database is likely the better base, and we would say so.
- You need a public content site. This stack is heavier than that job requires.
- You want the developer seated with your team in person.
- There is no one to decide priorities from week to week.
MEAN stack questions, answered
Our front end is AngularJS. Can the API stay as it is?
Usually, yes. The Express API does not care which client calls it. We add tests around the endpoints first, then replace the front end against the same contract, and treat API problems as separate tickets.
Is MongoDB suitable for financial or transactional data?
MongoDB supports multi-document transactions on replica sets, so it can be done. It needs deliberate schema design, and such transactions cost more than single-document writes. If most operations span many collections, we will raise the question of a relational database.
Do you use Mongoose or the native driver?
Mongoose on most projects, for schemas, validation and middleware. The native driver where throughput matters or aggregation is heavy. Both can be used in one application.
Should we move from Express to NestJS?
Only if the structure of the API has become a problem. NestJS will feel familiar to Angular developers, with modules and dependency injection, but a tidy Express application does not need replacing.
Who owns the source code?
You. All work is committed to your repository, and the agreement signed before work starts covers ownership and confidentiality.
How do time zones work?
Developers work India time. We agree overlap hours with each client for calls and reviews, and the remaining communication goes through tickets and written updates.
